May is a marvelous month in DC! And a very busy one for gardeners. I'm spending what little free time I have in the garden: cutting back dead wood; pruning shrubs that were meant to be dwarf varieties for a city plot; fertilizing and reinvigorating plants that have seen sunnier days; weeding here and there; and just a lot of digging in the dirt!
So this will be a quick post to show you a pair of antique French bergeres that recently arrived in the shop. My upholsterer performed miracles as the chairs were a wreck. They are now in a heavy linen fabric with a flat tape trim in the same fabric, and the new down-and-feather seats are SOOO comfy. I think these are the perfect small-ish chairs!
